Luvhani Ratshilindela
Founder & InnovatorLuvhani Ratshilindela is a South African innovator and entrepreneur who founded Studo Guide after experiencing firsthand the lack of career guidance available to students in under-resourced schools. With a passion for education technology and social impact, Luvhani set out to build the platform he wished had existed when he was choosing his subjects and planning his future. Today, he leads Studo Guide's mission to ensure no South African student has to navigate their academic journey alone.
Our Story
Studo Guide was born from lived experience. Growing up in South Africa, the founder faced significant challenges choosing subjects in Grade 10 — a decision that would shape his entire career trajectory. There was no guidance, no data, and no one to ask. Later, the university application process proved equally daunting, not due to lack of ability, but lack of information and direction.
That experience exposed a wider, systemic problem within the education system: millions of South African students are expected to make life-changing decisions without proper guidance, data, or support. The results are misaligned careers, wasted potential, and students who never discover what they are truly capable of.
Instead of accepting this as “just the way it is,” we chose to innovate. Studo Guide was built from the ground up to address every pain point in the student journey — from subject selection in Grade 8 to bursary applications in Grade 12. We combined AI technology with deep knowledge of the South African education system to create something that truly works for our context.
Studo Guide was built to become the system we wished existed — one that guides students using insight, structure, and data rather than guesswork, and one that is accessible to every student regardless of their circumstances.
